Hulda Rós Guðnadóttir

Hulda Ros Gudnadóttir er fædd í Reykjavík en er með aðsetur í Berlín í Þýskalandi. Hún vinnur aðallega að ítarlegum langtíma rannsóknarverkefnum sem innihalda fjölbreittar listrænar niðurstöður sem hún vinnur í ýmsa miðla. Hulda gerir listrænar  heimildamyndir, innsetningar en einnig  einstök verk, listræn inngrip, skúlptúra og stafrænar ljósmyndir.

Veggskúlptúrinn „Krókur“ sem hún bjó til sérstaklega fyrir Multis er ein af mörgum bendingum rannsóknarverkefnisins Keep Frozen sem hófst 2010

Prentverkið ‘The World Will Not End in 2022’ var einnig búið til sérstaklega fyrir Multis sem 2022 útgáfan af seríunni ‘The World Will Not End’ sem á upphaf sitt í dómsdagsárinu 2012. Í seríunni er listamaðurinn á húmorískan hátt að vinna með hugmyndir um hræðsluáróður í samélaginu.

Hulda Ros Gudnadottir is a contemporary visual artist and a filmmaker born in Reykjavík, Iceland but based in Berlin, Germany. She works predominately on long-term in-depth research projects that include numerous artistic outcomes manifesting in multiple of media from large-scale creative documentaries and mixed-media installations to single objects, interventions, sculptures and digital photography.

The ‘Hooked’ wall-sculpture that she created specially for Multis is one of the many gestures of the research project Keep Frozen she has been conducting since 2010

The print ‘The World Will Not End in 2022′ was also specially created for Multis as the 2022 version from The World Will Not End’ series that trace its orgin to the apocalypse-year 2012. In the serie the artist is in a humorous way reflecting on ideas of fear propaganda in society.

Short Bio

Gudnadóttir holds an MA degree in interactive design from Middlesex University (2001) and BA in visual art from Iceland Academy of the Arts (2007) and BA in cultural anthropology from the University of Iceland (1997).

She has staged solo exhibitions in museums such as Berlinische Galerie – Museum of Modern Art – in Berlin (12 x 12 program), Reykjavik Art Museum and ASI Art Museum in Reykjavik, Iceland but also at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin where she was an artist-in residence for one year 2018-2019. On the independent scene she has exhibited solo at Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig under the leadership of Candace Goodrich (2016) and renowned project spaces such as Program in Berlin (2010) curated by Carson Chan and Fotini Lazaridou-Hatzigoga. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and screenings at galleries, project spaces and film festivals in countries such as India, Japan, Hong Kong, USA, Mexico, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, UK, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Serbia, Greece, Ukraine and Bulgaria.
