Davíð Örn Halldórsson
Davíð Örn Halldórsson (f. 1976) hefur mestmegnis unnið við málverk síðan hann útskrifaðist frá myndlistardeild Listaháskóla Íslands árið 2002. Hann hefur unnið með óhefðbundnar málunaraðferðir; málað og spreyað með mis- munandi málningu á fundna hluti. Verk Davíðs Arnar eru persónuleg úrvinnsla á umhverfi hans sem hann varpar fram í myndmáli sem vísar í teiknimyndir, graffiti list, Pop list og vestræna listasögu. Davíð Örn hefur haldið fjölda einka- sýninga og tekið þátt í samsýningum hér á Íslandi og víða erlendis. Listasafn Íslands, Listasafn Háskóla íslands auk einkasafnara eiga verk eftir hann. Davíð fékk Dungal styrk- inn árið 2008 og árið 2013 hlaut hann hin virta Carnegie Art Award styrk í flokki ungra listamanna. Davíð býr og starfar í Reykjavík.
Davíð Örn Halldórsson (b. 1976) has mostly worked in painting since he graduated from the visual arts department of the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2002. He has worked with non-traditional painting methods; painted and sprayed with different paints on found objects. The work of Davíð Örn works are a personal elaboration of his environment, which he projects in imagery that refers to cartoons, graffiti art, Pop art and Western art history. Davíð Örn has held a number of solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. The National Gallery of Iceland, the Art Museum of the University of Iceland as well as private collectors own works by him. Davíð received the Dungal grant in 2008 and in 2013 he received the prestigious Carnegie Art Award in the category of young artists. Davíð lives and works in Reykjavík.
