Verkið á sér uppruna í tilraunum Robert Hanham Collyer í bókinni Psychography, or the Embodiment of Thought frá árinu 1845. Á 19 öld voru fyrstu skrefin í sálfræði óaðskiljanleg við spiritisma og mesmerisma. Tilraunin er að sendandi sendir mynd úr huga sínum af svörtu sykurþykkni (Molasis) í skál. Viðtakandi sér í huga sínum myndina sem sendandi sendi. About the work
The work originates from Robert Hanham Collyer’s experiments in the book Psychography, or the Embodiment of Thought from 1845. In the 19th century, the first steps in psychology were inseparable from spiritualism and mesmerism. The experiment is that the sender sends a picture from his mind of black sugar concentrate (Molasis) in a bowl. The recipient sees in his mind the image sent by the sender.
