Lítill kassi með innbyggðum skjá og hátalara sýnir vídeó af gröfu sem er í óða önn að búa til lítið fjall. Í vinnslu verksins er hver hreyfing gröfunnar stillt af, þannig hreyfingarnar verða allar jafn langar. Þetta hefur svo áhrif á tónhæð vélarhljóðsins, þannig að það verður ýmist of hægt og djúpt, eða of hratt og hátt. Úr þessu verður taktföst hreyfing og lítil melódía, eða dans og söngur.
About the work
A video and audio recording of an excavator that seems to be building a mountain. Each of the machine’s movements is adjusted in speed until all the movements become the same length. This results in an even rhythm throughout the video, and at the same time causes the sound of the excavator to change in pitch, either up or down, depending on if the movement becomes faster or slower. This creates a melody. The movements become song and dance.
