The Multis project

MULTIS specializes in the promotion, publication and sale of art editions by Icelandic contemporary artists.

MULTIS’s goal is to make art accessible to the public and connect the professional field of art to the business community.

MULTIS aims to have openings at cultural institutions, companies and private parties who are interested in participating in and supporting the visual arts environment in Iceland.

MULTIS also offers companies a business services packaged assisting them in introducing and promoting Icelandic contemporary art in there premises.

Starfsreynsla á sviði lista og kennslu:

Ásdís starfar sem listrænn ráðgjafi og verkefnastjóri á sviði myndlistar auk þess sem hún hefur sinnt trúnaðarstörfum hjá Kynningarmiðstöð íslenskrar myndlistar (KÍM), Samband íslenskra myndlistarmanna (SÍM), Myndlistarráði og Listaháskóla Íslands. Ásdís hefur einnig sinnt trúnaðarstörfum hjá öðrum fagfélögum, t.d setið í stjórnum Barnamenningarhátíðar, Grafíkfélagsins, Hönnunarsjóðs, Samtök list- og hönnunarkennara á framhaldsstigi (SLHF) og KÍM.  Ásdís hefur verið formaður valnefndar Feneyjartvíæringsins og starfað sem aðstoðarframkvæmdastjóri Hverfisgallerís.

Ásdís hefur rúm tíu ára reynslu af því að kenna börnum og fullorðnum og sinnt kennslu hjá Tækniskóla Íslands og Myndlistarskólanum í Reykjavík þar sem hennar sérsvið hefur verið menningarlæsi og sjónlistir. Ásdís hefur einnig unnið að útgáfu á kennsluefni um útilistaverk í Reykjavík og sinnt fræðslu á söfnum.

 

Menntun:

Ásdís lauk BA gráðu í myndlist frá Listaháskóla Íslands og diploma frá Central Saint Martins College of Art í London. Hún lauk einnig MA prófi í listkennslu og stjórnun frá Listaháskóla Íslands og viðbóta diplóma á MA stigi í safnafræði við Háskóli Íslands.

Work experience and education

Work experience in the field of art and education:

Ásdís works as a consultant and project manager in the field of visual arts, in addition to which she has held confidential positions at the Icelandic Art Center (KÍM), the Association of Icelandic Artists (SÍM), The Visual Arts Council and the Iceland Academy of the Arts. Ásdís has also held confidential positions with other professional associations, e.g. serving on the boards of the Children’s Culture Festival, The Icelandic Printmakers Association, The Association of Art and Design Teachers (SLHF) and KÍM. Ásdís has been the chairman of the Venice Biennial’s selection committee and worked as the assistant director of Hverfisgallerís.

Ásdís has over ten years of experience in the field of teaching children and adults and has taught at The Technical College in Iceland and The Reykjavík Art School, where she has specialized in teaching cultural literacy and visual arts. Ásdís has also worked on publishing teaching material on art in public places in Reykjavík and taught in museums.

 

Education:

Ásdís completed a BA degree in Fine Art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and a diploma from Central Saint Martins College of Art in London. She also completed an MA degree in Art Education and Management from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and additional diplomas on the MA level in Museology at the University of Iceland.

Starfsreynsla á sviði lista og kennslu:

Helga starfar sem listrænn ráðgjafi og verkefnastjóri á sviði myndlistar. Helga hefur sinnt trúnaðarstörfum hjá fagfélögum og setið í stjórnum Nýlistasafnsins, Myndhöggvarafélagsins og SÍM. Helga hefur setið í úthlutunarnefnd starfslauna listamanna, verið í valnefnd Feneyjartvíæringsins og í valnefnd Myndlistarverðlaunanna. Helga hefur sinnt kennslu hjá Myndlistarskólanum í Reykjavík þar sem hún hefur kennt bæði börnum og fullorðnum myndlist og margmiðlun.

Helga er stofnandi og eigandi vefritsins artzine.is en það vefrit sinnir umfjöllun um samtímalist á Íslandi. Helga átti og rak Týsgallerí um tveggja ára skeið þar sem hún var verkefnastjóri og  listrænn stjórnandi. 

 

Menntun:

Helga útskrifaðist með BFA í myndlist frá Myndlista- og handíðaskóla Íslands (Nú Listaháskóli Íslands) Helga lauk MA-prófi í myndlist frá Chelsea College of Art And design í London og er með diplómu í listmenntun og stjórnun frá Listaháskóla Íslands.

Work experience in the field of art and education:

Helga works as an artistic consultant and project manager in the field of art. Helga has held confidential positions with professional associations and served on the boards of the Living Art Museum, the Sculptors’ Association and SÍM. Helga has been a member of the Artists’ Salaries Allocation Committee, a member of the Venice Biennale’s selection committee and the Visual Arts Awards selection committee. Helga has taught at the Reykjavík School of Fine Arts, where she has taught both children and adults art and multimedia.

Helga is the founder and owner of the web magazine artzine.is, which covers contemporary art in Iceland. Helga owned and operated Týsgallerí for two years where she was project manager and artistic director.

Education:

Helga did her BFA in Fine Art from The Icelandic School of Arts and Crafts (Now The Iceland University of The Arts ) Helga did her MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art And design í London and has a Diploma in Arts Education from The Iceland University of The Arts.
